Within this apartment, the client requested a contemporary and luxurious modern interior that was not shy when it came to clean lines and energy efficiency. Touting a six-star energy rating, it certainly ticks all the boxes when it comes to sustainability. full insulation, including all wet areas, intuitive ventilation and LED lighting, energy serving fixtures and electrical appliances all make themselves known inside this stunning home that is economically run with cooling and hot water zoned to specific areas of the house.
The design reflects that this interior is a million-dollar home, but it is not too precious. It is a practical home where you can sit back and enjoy each and every space with views of its surroundings. The interior design combined with the architecture of the structure ensured the project produced an end product consistent and compliments the building envelope.
The subtle interior colour and material palette are accentuated with punchy, luxurious finishes such as dark marble tops and sleek, seamless joinery, which help create a light, airy, calm atmosphere. The design has used lots of whites, light flooring, soft grey Italian porcelain tiles, marble, timber veneers and sleek, considered, black accents,” muses Janine. Large-format furniture and light fittings and a generous-sized entrance and hallways allowed us to create a light, airy, open spaces in both levelled living areas.”
Over in the powder room, a unique and individualized space welcomes rich materials including marble, brushed silver tapware, a feature pendant to create a moody, dramatic space, and a black-framed mirror that gently conceals LED lights. “The master bedroom’s walk-in robe and unsuited were designed to create a luxe, high-end hotel feel.
